Meet Your Presenter

Natalie Douglas is Lead Collaborator at Practical Implementation Collaborative, editor at the Informed SLP, and a faculty member in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Central Michigan University. Her work aims to advance best, person-centered practices in communication and quality of life for people with dementia, aphasia, and other communication disorders in adults through implementation science. Susan Browning, M.A., CCC-SLP RAC-CT has been a practicing clinician, within the field of speech-language pathology, for 20 years. During this time, her focus has been on neuro-diversity within a wide variety of patient populations and clinical needs. When working with clients and their family members, her skilled, therapeutic goals are to find every day successes beyond just the treatment session. This is accomplished by providing practical, person-centered speech, language and swallowing goals, for clients and their families, so that they function at their best. In addition to her clinical practice experience, Susan has earned her Resident Assessment Coordinator (RAC) certification, as an expert in the completion of the Minimum Data Set, or MDS, within the skilled nursing environment. Susan has also recently worked as a clinical education specialist, in which she reviewed documentation, provided training and created educational content to be used by physical, occupational, and speech therapy colleagues who also provide therapy within the long term care setting. Susan has a strong understanding of coding and insurance requirements for skilled therapy services. Susan is a member of the Special Interest Group for Gerontology (SIG 15).
