What is Smart Search?
Smart Search is a new optional feature designed to help you find relevant Therapy Insights resources using natural-language searches and clinical context.
Instead of relying only on keywords, you can describe the real-life situation you’re working with, and Smart Search will help connect you with relevant resources, ideas, and therapy directions from the Therapy Insights library.
How is Smart Search different from Google or ChatGPT?
Smart Search is grounded in the Therapy Insights library and educational philosophy rather than the open internet.
Instead of pulling from random websites or general AI training data, Smart Search is designed to help you navigate the Therapy Insights resources you already know and trust.
What kinds of things can I search?
You can search using diagnoses, goals, challenges, functional situations, or everyday clinical descriptions.
For example:
• “A person s/p TBI who feels overwhelmed trying to cook meals independently again”
• “A child with feeding difficulties whose caregivers feel exhausted and unsure what to try next”
• “Someone with dysarthria who avoids group conversations because repeating themselves is exhausting”
You do not need to use perfect keywords or formal medical terminology.
Is Smart Search replacing keyword search?
No. Traditional browsing and keyword search are still available.
Smart Search is simply another way to explore the Therapy Insights library.
Do I have to use Smart Search?
No. Smart Search is completely optional.
Some clinicians may still prefer traditional search and browsing, while others may find Smart Search helpful for brainstorming, discovering resources, or navigating more complex situations.
Is Smart Search HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Smart Search is not intended for the entry, storage, or transmission of protected health information (PHI) or personally identifiable information (PII).
Please do not enter:
• Patient names
• Dates of birth
• Medical record numbers
• Addresses
• Insurance information
• Other identifying information
If identifying information is included in a query, Smart Search will reject the search and it will not be processed.
How reliable are the responses?
Smart Search is designed to support clinicians, not replace clinical judgment.
Like any AI-assisted tool, responses may occasionally be incomplete, imperfect, or miss important clinical nuance. Clinicians should always apply their own professional judgment and decision-making.
Does Smart Search learn from my searches?
No. User searches are not used to train or retrain the underlying AI model.
Optional feedback, such as thumbs up/down responses or submitted reports, may be reviewed by the Therapy Insights team to help improve the feature experience over time.
What should I do if something looks inaccurate or concerning?
Please report it using the feedback tools within Smart Search or by contacting support@therapyinsights.com.
We actively review feedback and will continue refining Smart Search as we learn how clinicians use it in real-world practice.
