Spastic muscle tone is an impairment frought with many negative consequences for the individual, including loss of movement, independence, increased risk of skin breakdown, fall risk, and increased pain. OT aims to reduce these negative outcomes by intervention from the onset of spastic tone and maintain an individual’s highest functional potential.
