Visually Processing a Space in 2D and 3D

This 3-stage therapy task moves from easy to difficult, challenging the ability to perceive two-dimensional and three-dimensional spatial concepts. Designed to address left neglect/hemi-spatial neglect, visuo-spatial processing, calculation, working memory, and sequencing, this task is best suited for speech-language pathologists and other therapists working with people who have survived brain injuries and are in a rehabilitation setting. Navigating Menus and Calculating Costs

This higher level cognitive task requires basic addition and multiplication skills to help kids put together a business plan for a basic lemonade stand. Patients are challenged to calculate cost per cup of lemonade based on recipe as well as profit per cup based on various price points.

Following Multi-Step Directions Using the Visualization Strategy

8 sets of multi-step directions spanning in difficulty from 1-step to 4-step to before/after instructions. These tasks are designed to be able to be completed with supplies you find in a therapy gym; they are designed to be completed with the use of one arm/hand. The task includes instructions on how to use a visualization strategy to improve carry-over to functional tasks.

Finding Medication Box Errors Set #1

For this activity, the patient will need to read the directions for each medication to know how often it should be taken. Then they will need to notice errors with the medication box which requires good attention and visual reasoning. This task could also be used for a visual scanning activity.
