Velocity Based Training: Brief Guide for Clinicians
Resistance training intensity can be determined by many methods which include subjective methods (such as rate of perceived exertion scales) and objective methods (such as using a percentage of maximum weight lifting ability). A newer, less commonly used method is velocity based monitoring (VBM) which has several advantages over more traditional methods. This resource outlines advantages of VBM and the basics to get the clinician started in a rehabilitation setting.
