Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia
Nobody wants to be deemed “incompetent,” especially when a person’s intellect is still intact, but he or she just cannot speak or communicate effectively due to language impairments from acquiring aphasia. Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia (SCA) is an approach created by the Aphasia Institute to demonstrate the competence of a person with aphasia through a communication partner.
