Pacing is a skill usually targeted in speech-language therapy, with the goal of helping the child communicate more effectively and build self-awareness. This activity is appropriate for most children, toddlers through school age, who may have speech sound errors and/or a language impairment. A pacing board gives the child a visual, tangible representation of what the adult is trying to teach. Use the pacing board with the summer-themed sentences below to work on appropriate speech rate!
