Bio: I graduated from U of Maine-1989. My career has allowed me to work in many states: ME, NH, Mass, NC, NJ, Michigan and California. In the 30 years I have been an SLP, 3 were in public school. Others were focused on adult neuro: SNF, HH, ARU, OP & IP(22 years). Areas of expertise: dysphagia, adult language, cognition, voice, MSD. I was the clinical coordinator for the hospital speech department for 7 years. Currently I am a Clinical Assistant Professor (3rd year FT) & Director of Adult Learning Lab. I continue to work clinically at the hospital.
Current primary professional role: I am a Clinical Assistant Professor, in a graduate school and an SLP at a suburban acute inpatient hospital.

Teaching philosophy: I am passionate about working with other speech therapists, whether they are grad students, new grads or experienced clinicians to learn about opportunities in our field related to adults. I believe that we should always follow our dreams, interests and passions-and if we do, we can find a way to make it happen. It did for me.
