Medication Administration Based on Diet Level
When a person has dysphagia, a speech-language pathologist and other staff not only have to think about and determine the least restrictive solid and liquid consistencies but also how a medication should be administered – orally (and how) or via a non-oral route. This handout helps provide guidance to the SLP and other staff regarding oral medication administration based on the diet level.
