Teaching philosophy: I am passionate about this profession as a whole! The work that we do effects people’s lives, so it’s imperative that we are great at what we do. As SLPs we are constantly being inserted into someone else’s crisis, which requires compassion, sensitivity and for us to treat each client or patient the way we’d want our loved ones to be treated. It takes skill to provide effective and functional therapy without the bells and whistles of technology. I was taught that you should be able to provide therapy with your fingers and a pencil. When you’re able to do this, any material that you have will be a bonus! I love what I do and I love that I can make a positive difference in people’s lives with the work that I do!
Preferred modes of communication: Phone, online video, texting, email
