Bio: Bernice graduated Rockland Community College with Honors and an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Occupational Therapy. Bernice quickly found a niche working with geriatric patients in sub acute and long term care settings and is currently working in NY & NJ. Bernice’s special passion is helping COTAs and OTs succeed in their field and in life! As part of her students fieldwork education, she would often counsel students with practical advice: how to get that first job, how to negotiate a great salary, how to get along in the work place and how to manage money and pay back loans. Bernice’s vision is to help COTAs & OTs develop their best professional and personal selves!

Current primary professional role: I am a COTA currently working in a skilled nursing facility where I treat Long Term and sub acute patients.

Teaching philosophy: I am passionate about helping COTAs & OTs develop their best professional and personal selves! I use motivational interviewing throughout the process to reach and implement professional and personal goals.
