Meet Your Presenter

Dana M. Bryant is a licensed and certified Speech Language Pathologist with 10+ years of experience working with individuals with neurological disorders. She currently works in an Outpatient Clinic in Northern Virginia serving military men and women with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI) or history of stroke(s). There, she is part of an interdisciplinary team using evidence based practices to treat patients in both individual and group sessions. Specific expertise areas include Motivational Interviewing, FUNctional and Person Centered Care, Return to School/Return to Work, and topics specific to Mild TBI. With her website and social media platforms, Dana hopes to inspire a community of SLPs to unleash their creativity and be more confident in their FUNctional and Person-centered clinical care. She does this through her relatable and entertaining social media content AND with the products and services offered by her business (Parker Bryant Consulting, LLC).

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify potential barriers to SLP students applying to SLP positions working with adult populations.
  2. Formulate creative options for working with adults within an outpatient work setting.
  3. Apply what they learn to develop their own ideas of FUNctional and person-centered care activities for immediate application in their specific work setting.

Information is geared to practitioners with little or no knowledge of the subject matter. Focus is on providing general introductory information.

SLPs (adult-based).
