Meet Your Presenter

Madeline Williams is a medical speech-language pathologist, certified brain injury specialist, and certified dementia practitioner. She has worked in the inpatient hospital, skilled nursing, and outpatient hospital settings. Madeline is passionate about sharing resources, her experience as a supervisor, organizational tips, and therapy ideas with other speech-language pathologists and SLP graduate students on her Instagram @madelinewilliams.slp. She also loves helping clinicians navigate the hiring process and shares job searching, resume, and cover letter tips on her Instagram @therapycareercafe. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her fur babies.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the responsibilities of the supervisor when working with graduate clinicians and clinician fellows.
  2. Describe the importance of self-assessment in supervision and use of a rubric in self-assessment.
  3. Identify adult learning theories and principles and how to apply these as a supervisor.
  4. Describe an effective feedback strategy to implement.
