Meet Your Presenter

Sara Valli is a certified and licensed speech and language pathologist who has worked in the Fall Mountain Regional Schools since 2014. She has been a speech and language pathologist since 1999 specializing in assistive technology for learning disabilities, language and literacy, as well as in adolescent language, executive functioning, social cognition skills, and self advocacy for transition. She was a tenured faculty member at the Santa Rosa Junior College in the Disability Resources Department and has served as an adjunct instructor for The Collaborative for Educational Services Licensure in Special Education Program. She lives in Unity, NH with her family.

Course Details

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Participants will identify a minimum of three assistive technology supports for students with language based learning needs.
  2. Participants will apply knowledge on how to instruct students in the use of independent assistive technology for reading and writing in the classroom.
  3. Participants will demonstrate the ability to include assistive technology in student IEPs.

Instructional Level

Intermediate
Information is geared to practitioners with a general working knowledge of current practice trends and literature related to the subject matter. Focus is on increasing understanding and competent application of the subject matter.
