Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an increased comfort with addressing sexual activity and intimate social participation with their clients.
  2. Connect suggestions for self-reflection and recognizing and reconciling biases related to sexuality which would negatively influence the therapeutic relationship.
  3. Apply specific intervention strategies for clients in their domain of practice for sex and intimacy interventions.
  4. Generalize information from the course into practice at their facility focusing on advocacy, education, and intervention for sex and intimacy occupations.

Instructional Level

Introductory
Information is geared to practitioners with little or no knowledge of the subject matter. Focus is on providing general introductory information.

Target Audience

Speech, occupational, and physical therapists who work with adults.

This course will be presented on the Zoom platform. High-speed internet connection is required.
