Course Webinar: Which Came First: The Stress or The Pain?

Course description: The aim of this presentation is to improve the understanding of physiological and neuroscience mechanisms behind both stress and pain as well as the ways in which they interact, and outline strategies we can use to empower our clients and improve their quality of life and function. As therapists, it is important that we have an understanding of the physiological and neuroscience mechanisms involved in both stress and pain in order to provide the highest level of care. This is more important than ever as the stress and pain epidemics continue to grow in the United States. The time that we spend with clients is vital for identifying and addressing biopsychosocial factors that may be contributing to the development of and/or persistence of pain. Chronic stress and pain can start to spiral, but we can empower our clients to “spiral in a good way” by gradually improving both pain and stress levels.
